Zhangyuan (Ellen) Ji is an associate at Arch & Lake LLP. Her practice includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications involving software, computer hardware, web services, and networking systems. She also assists clients in inter partes review and post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to attending law school, Ellen gained valuable experience as a Patent Examiner at the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO). During that time, she reviewed patent applications related to software and Internet-based applications, business methods, telecommunications, and medical devices, and re-examined appeals at the PTAB of SIPO.

During law school, Ellen served for the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property and Chicago-Kent Patent Hub, a Patent Pro Bono Program. And Ellen worked as a Summer Associate at Hickman Palermo Becker Bingham LLP.
